Florida condo foyer redo

We used the peel and stick planks in color Pearl. I had to remove heavy commercial vinyl wall paper that we put up 20 years ago to cover very messy and uneven drywall. I was able to remove most of the wallpaper very carefully with little damage to the walls. Two of the smaller walls were a mess so they needed a lot of sanding and spackling. All the walls were washed twice with vinegar water to soften any glue and then wiped down with Terry cloth towels to remove the glue. All the walls were reprimed and allowed to dry for several days.. The two messy walls were totally covered in the peel and stick plank and the other walls were only covered on the lower half and repainted on the upper half. I ran the planks horizontally. Since the plank has a foam core edge that would show, I needed a trim to cover the foam core on the half walls. I did not want any large wood trim. I found a plastic tile edge trim from Lowes that allowed the plank to slide into a groove on the trim that hid the foam core. This trim was not cheap but worked very nicely for what I wanted. It came in 8 foot lengths and the walls were 11 feet so I had to abutt the trim pieces. I painted the tile edge trim with a spray paint and then glued the trim to the wall where I wanted it. I let it dry for a day before putting the peel and stick plank up. I worked from the top down as the first piece had to fit into the edge trim. This made for a very nice finished edge that was clean and neat. The rest of the walls were totally covered to hide the messy drywall. We used PVC corner trim to hide the cut edges when on an outside corner. This trim was spray painted as well and installed with an adhesive.
Since some of the walls were uneven, not all the tiles were sticking tight. After applying the tiles, I had to apply some gorilla glue into some of the seams with a razor blade and then taped the seams down with painters tape. I left the tape on for a day. The gorilla glue dried clear and seemed to hold down some of the loose edges.
I am very happy with the outcome of using this product. We new the walls would be a mess after removing wallpaper and spent a lot of time prepping the walls. This condo is a rental unit so when people come into the unit with grocery/luggage carts, the walls get banged up. So far, the walls are still looking good and should hold up to the hard abuse they get.

Great Product

The peel and stick Walnut is a great product. I used it to upgrade the look of our laundry room and it turned out great. The product is well made, easy to trim or cut and the adhesive is extremely strong. Once on the wall you would think it's real walnut planks.....it looks that good.

Easy To Wipe Clean And Very Waterproof!
